Belly Dance Workshop - Friday Night, November 13th October 09, 2009
Go old school as Kim teaches belly dance moves from teh 60's and 70's Middle Eastern nightclub scene. This dance workshop breaks down technique & foot patterns and then shows you how to put it all together. Great music, great dance, great fun! AND fabulous food and drink to follow!

About the Instructor
Kim Leary's ethnic dance life spans 20 years of learning, dancing, playing and teaching. She has trained under such greats as Tasha (NJ), Artemis Mourat (Turkish Romany Historian), Jamila & Suhaila Salimpour among others. Kim has performed as a soloist and with notable dance companies such as SaZ Dance Theatre (NYC), Jamila Salimpour's Bal Anat, Dalia Carella's DNA Project (NYC) as well as with her own group, Groove Merchant Drum & Dance Ensemble. In addition to teaching at her studio, The Drum & Dance Learning Center in Bordentown, NJ she has taught both credit and non credit courses at many universities and community programs. She has been a guest instructor at workshops around the US including the East coast’s largest Middle Eastern Dance Festival, Rakkasah East in 2007.
Kim is a certified Level 2 dancer in the Suhaila Salimpour format and Level One in the Jamila Salimpour format. She was voted NJ’s favorite Belly Dance Teacher in 2008. |
